Madden NFL 21 has been going strong across multiple platforms ranging between PC, PlayStation and Xbox series consoles. 

Still, one particular platform has noticeably been missing from Madden’s array of launch titles – Nintendo game consoles.

The last time a Madden series game was released on a Nintendo console dated back years ago, with Madden NFL 13 being the game in question (released on the Wii U).

EA Sports does continue to release other sports game titles to Nintendo console ports, although this mainly refers to the massively popular video game franchise, FIFA.

Now, things may finally change for the good, in Switch’s favour.

Recently, a YouTuber going by the name of Doctre81 found a curious job post titled “Online Software Engineer – (C++) – Madden”, earlier in late 2020.

The intriguing part of the job listing was that the candidate requirements specifically mentioned a minimum working experience of two (2) years regarding “Microsoft, Sony or Nintendo game consoles”.

Although this does not necessarily imply a Nintendo Switch port to be released any time soon, EA has not included any mention of Nintendo in their previous job posts for a very long time now, which just might indicate something new for the Madden series games.

Back in June 2020, EA had stated that they were going to release seven (7) Nintendo Switch games in the span of a year.

Nearing the end of March 2021, we have had six (6) confirmed releases of EA game titles, including the Esports game Apex Legends.

Now just a few months away from June 2021, would the last game in question be a Madden NFL 21 version for the Switch?

It does seem highly unlikely given the timing, but nothing’s for certain yet.

At the very least, this may just lead to a possibility of Madden NFL 22 coming to the Nintendo Switch sometime later next year.
