These are the controls for the PlayStation 4 controller. Use the X button for a ground pass or header. The square button is used for a lob pass, header, or cross. The triangle button allows you to do a cross pass. The circle button is used to shoot or to do a volley or a header. If you want to time your shot, then you need to press the circle button and the circle button timed. A chip shot is done when you use L1 with the circle button. A finesse shot is achieved with R1 and the circle button.

If you want your controlled player to do a low shot or a downward header, then you need to press L1, R1, and the circle button. Do a fake shot when you press the circle button followed by X and the left stick. A fake pass is done when you press the square button followed by the X and the left stick. If you want to achieve a threaded through pass, then you will have to press R1 and the triangle button.

These are the controls for the Xbox One controller. A ground pass or header move is done with the A button. The X button is used for a lob pass, cross, or header. Press the right bumper and Y and the player will do a threaded through pass. If you are playing on the PC with the mouse and keyboard, consider getting a PC compatible controller. Most players agree that FIFA 20, like all the other EA SPORTS FIFA titles, is better played with a controller.
